Royalty, the idea that some people have more merit and are accorded certain privileges simply by virtue of their ancestral lineage, is absurd. None the less, I always had at least some feeling of empathy for Prince Charles. As a man born into an anachronistic, almost impossible role, in the constant spotlight of a rapacious media, he's always carried himself with, well, perhaps not grace, but at least a certain humble dignity.
Not any more. (via LGF) As if GWB is not already grovelling enough to this bunch of third-world thugs, the prince, in his forthcoming visit to America, will try to persuade him to see the merits of Islam. He is apparently concerned about the US' confrontational approach to Islam since 9/11. Here's the thing Chuck: when someone hits you, for no good reason, you have a choice. You can, as the Christians say, "turn the other cheek". Likely enough, you'll get smacked in the other one. Or, you can confront your attacker, as justice and self-defense demands.
And no, it's not just a handful of "extremists" who are attacking... it's Islam .
